Guidelines for High-Quality Photographs
To ensure the images are suitable for publication and clinical review, please follow these recommendations:
- Images should be sharp and in focus.
- Ensure adequate, even lighting with no shadows or overexposed areas.
- Use a neutral, uncluttered background for extraoral photographs whenever possible.
- The patient’s head should be properly positioned and centered.
- Capture the images from the recommended angles without tilting.
- Retractors and mirrors should be positioned correctly to provide a clear view.
- All teeth, including the posterior dentition, should be fully visible in the intraoral photographs.
- Occlusal photographs should clearly show the entire dental arch.
- Remove excess saliva or debris that could obscure the dentition.
- Images should be submitted in their original resolution without excessive compression, filters, or annotations.
