Distalization : TADs or no TADs when distalizing & the limits
Session abstract:
Distalization of molars is a critical component of orthodontic treatment for certain malocclusions. While traditional techniques have been employed for decades, the advent of Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs) has offered a more versatile and efficient approach. This presentation will explore the benefits, limitations, and appropriate use of TADs in distalization therapy. We will discuss TAD placement, force application, treatment outcomes, as well as limitations and challenges. By presenting clinical case studies, we aim to provide insights into the decisionmaking process regarding the use of TADs in distalization therapy. This information will help clinicians select the most appropriate approach for their patients, balancing the benefits of TADs with potential risks and limitations.

Pushing the limits - Expand your possibilities with Angel Aligner treatment combined with auxiliaries
Session abstract:
While clear aligners have revolutionized orthodontics, certain complex cases may require additional auxiliary devices to achieve optimal outcomes. This conference explores the synergistic potential of combining Angel Aligner with various auxiliaries to address challenging malocclusions and enhance treatment efficiency. Through detailed case studies, we will demonstrate how these auxiliaries can be strategically combined with Angel Aligner treatment to address complex malocclusions, enhance treatment efficiency, reduce treatment time and improve patient outcomes. By understanding the potential benefits and limitations of combining Angel Aligner with auxiliaries, orthodontists can expand their treatment possibilities and provide comprehensive care to a wider range of patients.

Early intervention strategies for class 2 malocclusion in growing patients: A6 vs. Carrier/Twin block
Session abstract:
Class II malocclusion is a common orthodontic condition that can have significant functional and aesthetic implications. Early intervention is often recommended to intercept the progression of this condition and achieve optimal outcomes. This session will compare the effectiveness of the Angel Aligner A6 mandibular advancement appliance with popular early treatment appliances for Class II malocclusion in growing patients. We will discuss key aspects of these appliances: design, function, clinical indications, treatment outcomes, as well as patient comfort and compliance. By presenting clinical case studies and discussing the latest research, we aim to provide orthodontists with valuable insights into the benefits and limitations of using A6 mandibular advancement for early intervention in Class II malocclusion. This information will help clinicians make informed decisions regarding treatment options and achieve optimal outcomes for their growing patients.

Asymmetries in Aligner treatments: orthodontics and beyond
Session abstract:
From an orthodontic point of view, asymmetries can be listed as mandibular lateral deviations, dental asymmetries without skeletal involvement and skeletal asymmetries. The human face normally has a mild degree of asymmetry. Slight asymmetry may be unperceived by its carriers. But if not properly diagnosed, slight asymmetries tend to be revealed throughout orthodontic treatment, thereby extending treatment time and hindering final outcomes. Therefore the practitioner must wisely decide how to correct or reduce asymmetries bearing in mind potential limitations. The key to successful correction is to qualify and quantify all dental, skeletal, soft tissues and functional structures characterizing asymmetry. As for skeletal growth, the mandible is the structure most often associated with craniofacial asymmetries, with maxillary asymmetries often being secondary to asymmetrical mandibular growth. Some studies reported that dental asymmetry is usually presented with lower magnitude than skeletal asymmetry, thereby compensating bone asymmetry. Clinicians have to balance in treatment decisions answering questions: can we modify the growth and to what extent? Can we hide presenting asymmetries focusing on other dentofacial structures that are esthetically important? Should we go for orthognatic surgery? Different plans of aligner treatment for dentoalveolar and skeletal asymmetries will be illustrated and discussed to answer the questions raised in the abstract.

Expansion with Angel Aligner: New state of the art, from evidence to science. Tips for complex movements with aligners.
Session abstract:
The use of aligners for dental expansion is one of the most in-demand movements in orthodontics. However, recent advancements in materials and technology have improved protocols and effectiveness, offering additional benefits such as greater comfort and aesthetics. The results of a study using a dual-material aligner protocol will be presented, showcasing this innovative approach as a less invasive alternative to conventional dental expansion methods. The study evaluates the actual effectiveness compared to the virtual treatment objectives. In the second part of the conference, advanced strategies for performing complex dental movements using clear aligners will be addressed. As aligner technology has evolved, so has its capability to handle complex orthodontic cases. We will discuss specific techniques to tackle challenges such as molar uprighting, impacted canines, and root movements, as well as the importance of precise diagnosis and detailed planning. Additionally, the use of complementary attachments and proper sequencing of movements will be explored to maximize treatment efficacy, providing professionals with practical tools to optimize outcomes in patients with complex orthodontic needs.
